Eades Anticipation Double Malt Scotch Whisky Series
The Eades Anticipation Series has been hand crafted by Jim McEwan, Master Distiller and malt whisky visionary, specifically for the Virginia Distillery Company. Each Anticipation Double Malt whisky is a faithful representation of a specific distilling region in Scotland. Artisan craftsman Jim McEwan pairs exceptional spirits with a variety of fine wine casks which compliment the natural character of the whisky. Two of these enhanced whiskies from the same distilling region are then selected and married at varying rations to create an exceptionally balanced and complex expression.
Friday, March 26, we will be tasting all three varities of this exceptional series:
Eades Speyside Double Malt -- Deep amber color. Fragrant aromas of chocolate covered figs and dates, roasted pecans, and pear blossoms. A round, supple entry leads to a lively, dry-yet-fruity medium-full body of toffee, raisin toast, roasted nuts, cocoa and spice. Finishes with a graceful fade. Very tasty and chocolatey.
Eades Highland Double Malt -- Copper amber color. Butter roasted nuts, bittersweet chocolate, and light heather aromas. A round, rich entry leads to a dry-yet-fruity full body of chocolate toffee, brown spice, buttered nuts, and star anise flavors. Finishes with a long, roasted grain and eucalyptus honey fade with a dash of moss. Very rich and flavorful with nice balance and scope of flavors.
Eades Islay Double Malt -- Interesting copper salmon color. Cocoa, floral honey, nuts, and medicinal peat aromas. A silky entry leads to a fruity medium-to-full body of honey, toffee, and lightly smoky peat and mossy stone flavors. Finishes with a very peppery, smoky ashtray fade. |
